The temptation I'm facing now is wanting to buy a second Bose floor unit and speakers and use one of my existing bass units for a dual setup. I know it's probably over the top but I would like to hear a dual L1 setup

Simon, tbh, before I used my system I would have agreed totally with a stereo setup, purely based on my stereo PA experience..
But now I have to say I really don't think it is needed...
Unless you are playing to about 400 bodies, most of which are dancing, the single does it well, and sounds terrific. I just don't see that adding another L1 would make that much of a difference in relation to the cost outlay.

Sorry Dennis, I should've read your Post more clearly.
Well I'd take your Second Sub with you to any bigger gig you plan to play.
Here's the deal with the Subs:
The Second Sub Doesn't "kick in" until you raise the Voulme Level to a point where the Brain of the Power Stand feels it's "needed".
We have the Packlite (running 2 additional subs - so 4 in total)
BUT
The Brain can sense (via the Bass connections) how many subs are connected and Self EQs the System so there is not an "overdose of Bass" - just a fantastic Depth of sound.
(If you want to add more Bass artifically you can of course, by simply Manually pushing up the Low EQ on the Desk)
Bottom Line: Please don't be under the impression that if you add more Bass Bins that the sound will instantly muddy up and be Bass Heavy (in a bad way) as the System IS fool proof - up to a point. *
* That point is, BTW, if you are playing a small Venue and simply turn up too much(!) or if you place the Bass Bins in a resonant Corner or along a wall or any position that exaggerates the Bass - use your common sense when it comes to PA positioning! lol

I've had the Bose L1's for around 5 years now. my setup is 2 L1's and 4 B1's
I've played to audiences of over 500 people with them and it sounds absolutely fantastic. Don't get me wrong, there could be a little more bass when I'm DJing but most of the time we play live and the sound is unrivalled.
I might buy another 4 B1's and then it should fulfil my bass needs. Sometimes my dad does gigs with my uncle who uses normal JBL 12" speakers and the difference in sound between them and the Bose is just ridiculous. I haven't heard of 1 conventional speaker that gets anywhere near the clarity of the Bose.
