Cool Set List feature found

Post by EnjoyRC »

Before owning a Kronos, I posted a question about MIDI program changes in the Set List. Well now that I have my Kronos, I've done some testing. And I like what I found.

I use Ableton Live to drive my keyboard rig on stage. It sends Bank Changes and Program Changes to all of my keyboards. Including MIDI clocking, streams tracks, etc....

If you send a Bank Change to the Set List, it selects a different Set List. If you send a Program Change, it selects that slot. And YES, SST is utilized when a program change selects a new slot!!!!

Wow, that is flexible!

Does the bank change require any special format or is it a standard bank change?

Standard bank change message with the program change being sent.

I use Logic and Live. In Logic I can make multiple program changes in a track. Is there a way to do this in Live. I can only make one program change per track.. is this correct?

I look at a vertical row as a track in session mode. You can have multiple midi clips fire at the same time. Each horizontal cell in a row will format the same time when the set line is fired.
sending out....

Sorry I'm tired. I should have answered this tomorrow. Hope it makes some sense.

Ok, pretty much what I thought. So for instance, you can put the same clip in a track (Vertically speaking) multiple times,
and have it fire a different patch each time you fire a clip within the track.. thanks!

Yes, each clip can have Bank/Program change information sent when launched. If the MIDI clip is looped, the program change is only sent when first launched.
