MicroKontrol / Reason 4 / HELP?!?!

Post by rtparrott »

I bought a MicroKontrol yesterday and I'm trying to use it in a demo version of reason 4 on my imac, however, im struggling to get any sounds out of the synths.

First off, I have set the thing up in the Preferences menu about 10 times, altho I still dont know if the settings are strictly correct. For example, when I use the autofind feature for the keyboards and controls, it wants to set them both to Midi Port A, which I dont think it likes. My midi in is set to MIDI In Ctrl or something like that.

Secondly, I have the MicroKontrol set on the correct scene for reason and also tried the Maelstrom scene when trying to use that particular synth.

Lastly, I can get sounds from Redrum by pressing the pads at the top of each and create patterns and such so its not an issue of Reason just not making any noise whatsoever.

One thing I havnt done is set the MicroKontrol up in my actual Mac system preferences, i dont know if that'll make any difference?

Thanks.

Ok so ive set up the MicroKontrol with the Macs Audio and Midi section and still got nothing.

Im losing my mind here.

The controller is set up in Reason, but still no sounds.

The only other thing is, in the advanced midi device section of the Hardware Interface at the top, when Bus A is selected, if i move a knob or fader a light next to channel 1 lights up. When Bus B is selected, a light comes on next to channel 2 when i press a key.

No idea if that means anything or not.

HELP PLEASE!!!
