How do you save combinations on the KORG TR?
I did that thing where I combined some sounds and splitting and writing(saving) the program and the first time it was successful , it went to user category automatically but now when I try to save other combination it doesn't go to user it replaces the programs already set up in there even when I change the category to user it takes a number like A000 (Used to be Stereophonic keys or something) and replaces it with the name i renamed the combi too.
so the question how to save combinations without overwriting the factory sounds?? it won't create a new number for me!!!
how to save combinations sounds on the KORG TR?

There are a finite number of slots.
In program mode you have A000 through to D127.
In combi mode you have A000 through to C127.
Categories are literally just 'tags' that you can use to identify sounds. For example the sound in A004 could be listed under the 'organs' category. You could change that to the 'Pianos' category, but it wouldn't 'move' the sound. Its in the same place, it just now says Piano instead of Organ next to it.
Categories are just a way to search/find sounds quickly. They have nothing to do with how they are filed. That is just the bank and program number.
I know there aren't many free slots. Just one init Program from what I remember. The best thing to do for Combis is listen to a few and find ones you don't like. Take a note of the number, these are safe to overwrite.
Programs are a little different because they are used in combis and overwriting them will replace the sounds in the combis that use them. At this level though you're unlikely to be doing too much messing around in Program mode, so there's not much to worry about.
