Yes using the email system could have been easier and quicker but in these times of electronic mail outstripping the need for people to even bother putting pen to paper anymore, receiving a letter personally has a nice touch and is far more gratifying to Oasys owners given that most of us have felt neglected over the support,

Its a warm gesture to send everyone an individual letter even if it's typed it kind of makes it feel a little bit more unique and like we are appreciatted for buying such an expensive chunk of Korg history when most companies in this day and age merely see you as a number and lack acknowledgement to loyalty

I look forward to receiving mine hopefully soon

Thanks, but it's temporary. I'm still reading, though. :-)

If there were an Oasys software upgrade to allow streaming from hard disk, and an option to buy SSD with new acoustic piano sounds. I truly would be shouting praise from the rafters. For me, the weakest link in the O, the one thing that kept it from being a gigantic success was its not so great pianos. Add the EP engine and the O would be more than top tier.

Thats strange I only got an email...no hardcopy letter. Australia is only neighbours with Japan :-)

Thankyou Korg for the offer, and I will take you up on the new sounds discount for O owners who purchased a Kronos, since my O is fully loaded I will get a greater discount.

No. I don't for Korg. I just don't like whiners like yourself who go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on about the OASYS being discontinued.
Rocness wrote: The OASYS was released in 2005 that's hardly forever it's more like 6 years dude .
The OASYS had updates over four years, which is a very long time period for workstation updates.
Rocness wrote:
I bet they could do it for very little
I disagree, however it is irrelevant. Discontinuing development means just that -- Korg is not going to spend any more money on OASYS development.

Rocness wrote:
KORG SAID THEY WOULD ADD EXPANSION INSTRUMENTS TO OASYS AS THEY DEVELOPED THEM . They did say that
I am very familiar with every official statement Korg has made about the OASYS. If you interpreted the statement you reference as indefinitely, you were mistaken. Even if the economy hadn't tanked the OASYS may have had one more update, but no more.

Music hardware manufacturers like Korg, Yamaha and Roland make money by selling new products. Every product they create may have a few years of updates provided but that's it.

Rocness wrote:
I would gladly pay for EP-1 .
Fine. Go collect $50,000 from OASYS owners and then we can talk to Korg about restarting OASYS development.
** KORG Product Support Contacts **
(they support BOTH hardware and software)

Korg USA Product support -- https://www.korgusa.com/contactus (For fastest service I would suggest calling them on the phone)

Outside the U.S. contact your Korg Country Distributor -- https://www.korg.com/us/corporate/distributors/

This 'letter/email' thingo is wierd. Nobody does this, i havnt heard of it before.

The new generation of Korg owners must have more concern for thier clients, seems like someone new at Korg Japan really cares. What do others think?
