nanoKontrol setup problems help needed

Post by stkeys »

Hi guy's,

I've just recieved a nanoKontrol and after downloading the latest drivers from Korg for Windows 7-64bit I installed them and they show up in control panel reporting to be working fine.

When I plugin the nanoKontroler it lights up and all lights work when I press buttons.

I installed the Editor but the Kontroler didn't show up. I then found out it wasn't sending any Midi signals ( used MidiOx to check this)

So after doing some research for a fix online here are the things I've tried to resolve this.
I tried rebooting. Unpluging the Kontroler then pluging into same usb port.... then a different port.
I uninstalled everything then re-installed but nothing works.

I still can't get this to be recognised on my system even though the korg drivers are shown as installed and working.

Anyon had this problem or know how to fix it ?

Edit: I just tried installing this on another of my PC systems running XP and everything went smooth which leads me to believe this is a windows 7 related issue...

Still doesn't help me get it working though... anyone help ?

Thanks.

Hey I'm having the exact same problem with my nanokontrol I noticed no one has replied to you, but I saw you posted this in May and I was wondering if you ever got it working?

Actually my friend I did have some luck. For me at least it was a problem of the amount of midi drivers allowed on windows 7. It actually has a limit on how many you can have and when you hit that limit nothing else will work. I only have one other midi device but I guess windows throws in a whole bunch of default ones that takes up space. I just called the people at korg and they were super awesome and walked me through step by step how to delete a few, and now the device is working fine.
