Hi, I'm having a problem that I really can't seem to figure out.
I want to use my R3 to control my microkorg's sound bank.
I have the MIDI out from the R3 going to the MIDI in of the microkorg. The audio out from the microkorg is going to the audio in of the R3.
I run the audio out of the R3 into my KP3, which goes to my MBOX2. I can hear and manipulate the R3 via the KP3 just fine.
I've tried MIDI out from the MBOX to the R3, and that didn't work. I've tried changing the MIDI channels on both the R3 and microkorg. That didn't work either. I changed local to off, obviously, as well. Not sure where the problem lies.
Any help? All I'm really looking for is to switch between the R3 and microkorg at will, while using the R3's keys to play the sounds.
Thanks for looking.

The MIDI isn't your problem. MIDI out of the R3 to MIDI In of the microKorg is absolutely 100% correct.
The problem is your Audio Out of the microKorg to Audio In of the R3. This is rather unconventional. Really you should have a mixer, or run the microKorg to a different set of inputs on your interface (if possible).
However, you'll find a setting in the R3's global parameters called 'Audio In Thru' or some abbreviation of that. That will pass the audio from the microKorg through the R3 to its outputs.
There are slightly more sophisticated solutions, but that's the most basic.

Well, now I have the microkorg's output going into the DI inputs on the MBOX2. Unfortunately, since the R3 is connected via the KP3 (which goes into the Line inputs), I can't use it as a controller.
Is my only option now to get a mixer? I tried the Global setting you mentioned on the R3 btw, and no sound was coming out.
I suppose this setup is better than what I had, as I can now switch between both synthesizers, it'd just be ideal to use the bigger keys for both.
