I cant seem to make the extreme sounding saw sound- It doesn't sound like its super detuned- its kinda plucky- in these videos they vary a little bit
It reminds me of the sounds of some of korgs workstations- So thats why i think it may be hard to replicate.

Re: Initial D synth
I have no idea what sound you're talking about... the hypersaw?
Please be more specific.

I hear a completely normal, unadulterated hypersaw with release in there... There's a chord hit that goes with it occasionally, maybe that's the sound you're after?Morshu wrote:yes, but its not a normal hypersaw, it goes dun dun dun- almost pluck like whenever the sound changes notes quickly you notice

The second video uses the hypersaw that is practically just a hypersaw, the first video does not- I'm refferring to the synth sound that fills the first video- its a supersaw but its not a normal supersaw(I've tried using a normal supersaw) it doesnt sound the same or close to me- but, it is possible you are right. if you try to make the sound I'll tell you if your right- if your wrong, I'll just post my attempt lol.
I'm probably hearing things so sorry lol

They do overlap a bit, but they're entirely separate sounds.Morshu wrote:OHHH- sorry i thought you were thinking SUPER saw, not HYPERSAW...
yea you are right, but I was also thinking of that chord hit sound- I think that togethor they sound almost like one sound.
Also, there's really no difference between a hyper and super saw.... lol
For that sound, I'd take OSC1 as a saw, put it in unison mode with no a teensy bit of detune for phasing effect. Mix in OSC2 as a saw, ever so slightly detuned. Add a bit of noise, put the whole thing through master unison with less than 10 detune. Add portamento. Make the first filter an LPF12, close it a little and add resonance; serial it to a HPF, slightly closed.
Tada! Add delay and reverbs at your discretion.
Here's my attempt (I accidentally saved it as a Library):

The chord hit isn't embedded. It's an entirely separate sound.
