Pitch problem on Radias

Post by cello »

Hi all

Am having a problem with my well-out-of-warranty Radias...

Switch on, play any sound - brilliant (as usual  )

However, if I leave it alone whilst playing another keyboard fro 5 mins or so and start playing again, the pitch has gone mad - suddenly it's like there's two timbres, one in pitch and the other gliding all over the place until it eventually gets to the correct pitch - but the gliding 'sound' is nothing like the patch being played... it's really harsh and painful!

Switch it off again and all fine until 5 mins later...

Happens with all sounds irrespective of timbres or oscillators or filters or Fx that are used in the patch.

Anyone else had this issue? Is my Rad destined for the Korg workshop?

Do you have anything else sending midi data to the Korg?

Good question - yes.

My OASYS and D3200 sends clock/tempo data to the Radias.

However, problem remains when I remove the midi cables and re-start the Radias...

Guessing you tried but, attempt using the two knob modes "jump" and "catch" to investigate.

With the knob mode set to jump you may be able to find a parameter randomly changing values while in edit mode. If a knob moves by itself the display screen will jump to that parameter and you'll know the potentiometer for that parameter is malfunctioning.

And if it is a jumpy knob then changing to the catch mode may help prevent that knob (or an unknown knob) from changing value undesirably.

Whatever the culprit, be sure to let us know when you figure it out. goodluck, cello
