Just bought a KP3...

Post by senafox »

First impressions are "what a machine"...!!

Unfortunately I dont have any experience with DAWs \ Sampling or Loops....anyone got any suggestions on where\how to start building a library of loops and samples...what software would be a good place to start...Ableton \ FL Studio \ Reaper....??

At the moment I'm just using the KP3 with simple sequences running from an MC303;

Hello Senafox,

There is an endless supply of audio samples and loops , you can sample/loop the Radio, DVD Movies, CD's, other synths and hardware, TV, stuff off your computer (Youtube etc) only really limited to the quality of the source and the right connections (Cables!!).

Experiment ..

I have a sampler(SP404sx) i rip audio with, then i use Audicity to edit the sample to the right length then load it into the KP3 add effects , Re-sample ........ 8)

Google "free loops" or "free samples" there plenty of resources available.

You can buy loop CD's for various different genres. My experience is that the Audio is good quality but the loop timings were poor.(Back to Audicity again)

I have only recently started using Ableton Live 8 , it seems to be user friendly but time will tell .

Hope this is of some help
