Can you compare the same programs from K and O that already exist?

Not automatically yet, I only can compare programs within the same PCG. However, I can do a manual check, and if the size is equal, copy one program from a Kronos PCG to an oasys PCG, send it to you (or somebody with an oasys) and let you check if it works. If that is the case, I will need to add a feature to use 2 PCGs in my app, and copy from one to another. Don't expect it too soon, since quite some work is involved.

Btw, the conversion of programs of shared engines between the Oasys and Kronos is already in the future ideas list.

I can make a converted PCG quite easily (but I don't have really much time before the end of the week), however to implement the copying/conversion into the app will take more time (I need other features needing for the copying first).

Can you try to convert PCG from K to O for sound ( or sounds) that not exist for O? (but the same engine of course)

Eventually that should be possible. But I need first to make my app being able to even copy programs between two PCGs first.

Then the process will be as follows:
- Open Kronos PCG
- Open Oasys PCG
- Select a bank or program in the Kronos PCG
- Copy the bank/program to the Oasys PCG

So it would not matter if you copy programs between 2 Kronos PCGs and a Kronos/Oasys PCG. However, if not all programs can be copied (due to non shared engines, a warning message can be shown which programs are not copied) Also when other conversions later are available (cynkh is doing some real progress in it), I can add them so you can also convert programs between other synth models.

Bad news, just checked the program sizes and the size of a Kronos program is 1360h and from an oasys is 113Eh. This means programs cannot just be copied without adding a (much) more intelligent conversion algorithm. Since this is for now beyond of the scope I will keep it on my future ideas list, but I will probably not start on it within a month (and after it, I cannot guarantee anything).

If somebody else will take time to differ them and analyze how it can be converted, I'm willingly to add the conversion in as soon as I have the copy/paste features in my app in place. Otherwise I need to do the conversion analysis myself which could take some time.

Sorry to disappoint for now and thanks Leo for the idea/help offered.

EASY MOVING OF PROGRAMS AND COMBIS WITHIN A BANK
When programs are moved, automatically the combis using those programs will be fixed.

Furthermore, some fixes have been done. See details below for the full change list.

A new version of PCG Tools. Loading multiple PCGs is a job I will do (much) later, but there is a new features and some improvements: some buttons have been replaced by a menu and toolbar to make space for future additions easier and to have a bit more professional look.

And now it's possible to select MULTIPLE programs, combis or set list slots to move up and down inside a bank.

Also some small bug fixes. Below is the complete list.

A lot of small improvements and main feature to open multiple PCGs at the same time. You cannot perform actions on multiple PCGs (such as copying from one to another), but I thought it was already interesting enough to publish. Also a new status bar showing info about the currently selected PCG and improved closing behavior is added.

It took a few weeks but finally a new update is available. Below is the total list of changes, but some extra words (read: advertisement) is proper:

With this patch you can COPY program (banks) and combi (banks). When you copy combis, the programs being used are also copied. You can copy within a PCG but you also can
copy from one PCG to another PCG ... meaning it's finally a bit more mature as a librarian.

Also some other changes are made: you can select one or more banks OR one or more patches. Use the Shift or Control key for multiple selections.

Take a look at the copy/paste settings first and read the help text (help button) because copy/paste works a bit more difficult than in e.g. a word processor (since this copy/paste copies complete 'structures').

This is an in between update, since I will not spend much time the next weeks at the app (except for very urgent bugs maybe).

However, I wanted to deliver the parts I finished till now so you have some extra functionality.

The main features are showing of categories (and subcategories), the possibility to clear programs/combis/set list slots or banks and XML output is improved (for viewing in HTML). Also cleaned up the list views and fixed some bugs.
