SM card reading problem

Post by emilr »

I have this problem when I want to transfer data between my Triton Le and computer via the Smart Media card. I format the card in the Triton and put some files on it (midi, pcg, etc.). The computer sees the files but when I plug the card back in the keyboard says media not formated. I have a relatively new card reader (maybe this is the problem) which supports SM, and tried on OSX and Windows 7 OS's.
Anyone having this problem or knowing a solution?

Are you using a SmartMedia card directly, or using an XD to SmartMedia adaptor?

I have had issues when using an XD adaptor where the electrical contact is a little bad, and the Triton reports that the card isn't formatted. Jiggling it around and going back into the Media page normally fixes it. Might be worth checking that the SmartMedia card is clean - sounds like a simple fix but it can make a big difference and is easily overlooked.

It could also be that the SM Card is on its way out...
