A desperate cry for help: pot / wheel problems.

Post by shimokitakid »

Well, I've had my R3 for a year now: great little machine. For a number of reasons, I have had it sitting up right in a padded bag, in my room and away from magnetic fields (just like the manual says).

I have re-incorporated it into my home setup but something strange has happened: I noticed that the pitch and mod wheel functions are not acting according to their settings. No problem, I thought, I'll just restore default settings and re-build. Besides some of the factory settings are inspiring.

So, I restored defaults using the shift-7 functions (write protect off), and I was dissapointed with the result.

Example: program N1 "OB jumper"
Mod wheel should be a filter control.
Also, the first pot for "eg1 int1" is stuck in the +60 position (not the physical pot, mind you, but the software and lights).
This pot works well in other programs with the expected results, although the values sometimes "glitch" and dance around the set value by about 2-10.

If anyone can help me climb this mountain, I emplore you to help. It's been a rough couple of months, and I was psyched to make some music, but now I'm seriously at the end of my rope - no joke. This was a kick in the pants as I fear it's an internal issue with the hardware.

If anyone can help, I'd be most appreciative.

Ps - I have tried to change the mod wheel routing on later pages, but it looks like there's a problem with the pot.

have you tried hitting the r3 with a soft blow from your fist and then turning it off and then back on?

i think you may be one of the few people who's had this problem, infact, your probably the ONLY person.... if you have warranty korg will fix it for you probably.

and btw what padded case do you have for the r3? just wondering
