DAW software not recognizing Nanokey in Windows 7

Post by rohand87 »

Its about a week I got my Nano key. I installed the driver version 1.12 and it was working fine. It was until yesterday that I download driver version 1.13 and Nano Kontrol Editor. After installing driver version 1.13 and and Kontrol Editor the Nanokey stopped showing in MIDI device list of all my DAW including m1le and Kontrol Editor right after installation didn't detect my Nanokey.

The latest scenario is, I have tried the following with both driver versions (1.12 & 1.13) and still no gain:

1- The "Install KORG USB-MIDI Device" in "KORG USB-MIDI Driver Tools" and it says "Driver Has Been Installed Properly"
2- The "Uninstall KORG USB-MIDI Device" in "KORG USB-MIDI Driver Tools" detects the connected Nanokey. I have tried removing it also uninstalling the driver and re installing it (both 1.12 & 1.13)
3- Tried running the Configure Utility. It also detects the attached Nanokey

P.S: Please don't give me solutions like changing USB ports or trying without a USB HUB. I've done all of this stuff. Recommend me a proper fix.

nanoSERIES instal fail

Post by DruAndrew »

I think I am having a similar problem,

I am running:
Win7 64
Ableton Live 8

When I first plugged everything in, Ableton recognized all three controllers and allowed me to set up the MIDI i/o and turn them on/off.

However I was unable to get any functionality out of the nanoKONTROL as it Ableton wasn't letting me map any of the toggles to anything. no transport control. no fader, nobs or buttons. The scene will toggle but that is it.

I installed the KORG USB driver 1.13 and every thing seemed to install properly. i then installed the KORG KONTROL editor. but it doesn't recognize that any of my devices are connected. and after the 1.13 install, Ableton no longer recognizes that any of the devices are installed.

Windows shows all 3 in device manager, I have uninstalled and re installed drivers for all three both in device manager as well as in the KORG USB-MIDI Driver Tools, but the effect remains the same.

Everything installs fine according to windows, but I have lost all functionality in Ableton after this instal.

any suggestions?

Go to the Uninstall driver application provided by KORG. You should have (probably more than) a couple of corrupted drivers along with some good ones. Uninstall everything you can and reinstall again after.

Worked for me.
