I'm afraid that putting in a HDMI port would add cost with ... maybe $25. For Android phones there are maybe 1% wanting it but since it probably has a user base of millions it is worth that value (and the $25 will be spread among everyone). However for a user base of 1000, 1% is only 10. And then the $25 counts. It's a commercial reason, but I really feel your point. I hope the editor and a big PC/Mac screen will make it work easier for you.

As a recent owner I'll chime in. I've only had it a couple of days. But here's my take so far: I agree the resolution is EXCELLENT. Really crisp. Though even so it's a bit small once you want to dig in. For basic operations and performance, no problem though!

Pretty sure the new OS update is increasing the size of some things if I read correctly?
I agree that things are a bit small (like font), but I think the resolution itself is absolutely fantastic. I've posted a pic that someone took of me playing live from above (about 15 feet away?) and you can see the screen clear as day.

Re using a pc/mac editor.....
is it only me who finds this tricky? Looking up at a screen then back to the synth, then moving hand from mouse to keyboard and onto notes is all a faff.
I much prefer being 'hunched' over the keyboard where all editing / playing results is right in front of me and immediate,

Trying to find where that was stated. Nothing about it on the Korg website and "SEARCH"ed the forum the only way we can right now and came up with nothing.PinkFloydDudi wrote:Pretty sure the new OS update is increasing the size of some things if I read correctly?
I'm still waiting for my K61 but I doubt this will be a big deal with me. I know I don't want to bring a stylus with me to gigs but I don't expect to be doing a lot of programing at gigs either.

For those who have difficulty reading the screen due to the small fonts/high resolution, you may find full-page fresnel magnifying lens a useful visual aid. These are lightweight, credit-card thin, plastic lenses that can cover the entire screen and provide 2-3x magnification.

They usually have to be stood off the surface about 2". Considering that, the hands-free model looks particularly useful.

A hardware based programmer would be nice. A company; can't remember the name; based I believe out of New Zealand makes one that is covered in knobs for a bunch of old 80's and 90's era synthes. It either learns or is pre-programmed so that you can easily access most of the parameters on that particular synth. Ones that had a data entry knob and a small LCD screen. I'm sure that some body could eventually come up with a version that covered the synthes in the Kronos. Would probably cost a ton though. It would certainly make programming more hands on. I still have a couple of old analog keyboards and it's a joy to just tweak a knob and get instant results. At least with the Kronos the 8 knobs are active for some of the parameters.
If music is the food of love, play on and play loud!
