Roland Juno-106

Post by spinoria »

The Roland Juno-106 was my first synth. Really cool and simple. Some great pad sounds as well. There was some mode also where you could run it mono with double oscillators. Really fat. Can't remember what that mode was called.

Still miss it sometimes. Also miss my Roland D-50. It was something special about that one.

I agree, but its just such a wonderful name for a keyboard. :D
Believe it or not, this was the original Fairlight. (The keyboard was named after it).

Wow, I went on one like that called the Condor from Jersey (uk) to France. I think it's called a Hydrofoil. They don't half shift !

I had a cheap preset casio, but then treated myself to an Ensoniq sq-80. Still have it, and it's still wonderful. I suppose it was the equivalent of Kronos when it first came out - multi timbre, poly aftertouch, sequencer, easy to program, and the best manual I've ever seen. (Anyway, back to the Kronos!)

Indeed, back to the Kronos. The Kronos wouldn't be here if it wasn't for these early pioneering synths.

But look how much we get for our money now with the Kronos. Another reason to love it!

Roland JV-80 and a Roland MC-300 when I was 12 yrs old.

I still miss the wonderful synth-action of the JV-80...

The first I actually owned was a Moog Source which I bought new and I still have. But for a couple years before that I regularly played a Moog Prodigy owned by the guitar player.

What about 'CASIO' !!!

I had a CZ230s in 1986. Followed by a DX100 in '87; then I went mad in '88 with an M1, D-50 and ESQ1.
CURRENT GEAR: A yellowing Casio PT-80, 4 leaking batteries and some broken headphones.
WISHLIST: A PSU and some different headphones.
