is it possible to create a patch using Logic massive and then upload it to the korg m50 or korg r3?

I'm sorry - Logic Massive?!
not heard of that one...

anyway, No you can't.
A synthesizer produces sound through various sets of parameters - much like you drive your car or fly an aircraft by setting various controls, it is the parameter settings that tell the synthesizer to actually create the sound, from scratch.

sometimes there are short samples or recordings to use as a starting point, but on 'proper' synths like the R3, the waveform is most commonly calculated using mathematical calculations controlled by the parameters on the synth.

The M50 does use samples of instruments, but you can't load your own.

Many synths have a similar architecture. For example if you have a sawtooth wave with a half-closed filter cutoff and high resonance on the M50, you can approximate that by programming similar parameters into the R3, although the actual ranges and numbers might be different - it's best to fine-tweak it by ear.

thank you for your response. I'm really enjoying figuring all this out and look forward to getting into synths a lot more.
