I don't know if it's the same for you, but when
I start my Kronos I don't ear the fan
I can ear the Beep telling me that the Kronos
is ready to go, but after playing for some time
(couple of hours ) I ear the fan noise, in my
case it's not very loud it's not bothering me,
but my point is that the speed of the fan ( and the noise ) is variable could it be faster as the
temperature of the Kronos rises ?

If that's the case it's control by the operating
system, so it should be possible to correct it.

Is it the same for you ?

I'm aware of the fan during the initial boot sequence but not at any time after that. If I stayed very still and concentrated I could hear it running, but it is only just audiable. If it does regulate it's speed from time to time I'm not actually hearing it do so.

My fan starts fast, then slows down while booting and then runs at a medium speed all the time. It never changes it's speed afterwards, even if I really stress both CPUs.
Looks like it's first temperature controlled by the BIOS and then put to a fixed value by the OS.

Perhaps there is also a difference in the software of the 61, 73 and 88 models? May be the 61 model was delivered first? It could be just a configuration variable stored on SSD, may be e.g. a fixed value and "auto". And/or the BIOS. may be configured differently.

I just tried a 73 in the store, in a quiet room.

No fan during 90% of boot sequence, then medium speed after that.

Much less noise than my 61, absolutely more tolerable.

My 61 was sent away to Korg for a check up, I'll let you know their findings.

from what I read, the 73 and 88 models have wood for the bottom cover, right? This should reduce vibrations of the bottom cover. Metal vibrates better than wood, and the metal should also be thinner.

That's exactly what Korg told me after they had a look inside my 61.

So, I returned the 61 and got a 73 instead. Less noise, but I am sure it could be improved further by some modifications.
