Detailed Fault Analysis Log
The Poll thread I have on this subject is very limited due to the restrictions on poll slots and the high combination number required to do the analysis properly.
The existance of problems is now spread across numerous threads so it may be of benefit to bring them into one place statistically.
If those suffering problems/faults with their Kronos can supply full detaiils (as shown below) I will try to post a weekly update of the results, possibly in table format.
The idea is to fully understand which particular models and/or batches are causing problems for owners or is it a more widely spread situation.
I also ask for feedback of 'No Problems' so a proper perspective can to reached.
So, the information I need from each member experiencing problems is:
a) Model - 61, 73 or 88
b) Serial number - within bands of 100 (e.g. 101 - 200, 201 -300, etc.)
c) Problem - Data wheel, keybed contruction, muted keys, fan noise, software bug(s), etc.
d) Country - not sure this will show anything but just incase. Feel free to omit this if you'd rather not say.
e) No Problem - will allow a perpective to be gained on the extent of , or lack of, problems. Please include A, B and D with your response.
If you'd rather not post on the forum you can send me a PM.
I'm not sure if their will be any interest in this type of analysis. If there is, and I get a sufficient response, then I will happily collate the information and report back.

Yes, thanks. I've added to the first post.
As listed, I need:
a) model type
b) serial number (or range)
c) the problem
d) Country
e) No problem
I need ALL the information (a, b, c and d) from each member if they have a problem and ALL the information (a, b, d and e) if they have no problem.

I understand what you are saying but we either do the best we can or forget about it. I have no problems, at this time, with my K88 so I'm not going to this trouble for my own benefit. I'm hoping some analysis may throw some light on the problems other members are having.philmagnotta wrote:A NO problem listing is vague because we can't assume that the respondent(s) have experience with all the functions or have even explored the instrument enough.
If all one does is play the unit and perhaps a little knob twisting or other straight forward usage, then...
The 'no problems' is a seperate statistic so people can read into those results as they wish.

The dead spots on the ends are annoying. I play the ribbon with my thumbnail most of the time and it's very easy to go beyond the range of the controller yet still touching the surface. At that point, the mod drops back to zero, and it's particularly striking if you were greatly affecting timbre or pitch. I don't recall the Trinity or Tritons doing this, but my memory is usually faulty. Does anyone know of a way to calibrate the ribbon? Perhaps I should call the support line just to get an official answer.Dniss wrote:c) No sure if they all do this, but the ribbon seems to be acting weird when touch very close to the edge.
