Help with Microkorg XL Vocoder

Post by Twiztidbeatz »

I have a Microkorg XL and I believe that it has a feature which allows the user to record their voice via the vocoder and then use the keys on the keyboard to make that recorded voice or sound change in pitch. In other words, I wouldn't have to keep making sounds into the microphone, I could just say something into it and then use the keys. How do I do such a thing, if possible? Thank you very much!

With the MICROKORG Vocoder, you must speak while you play. Numbers 1-3 (A&B) are factory pre-set vocoder sounds. 4-8 (A&B) must be spoken and played simultaneously. (I only use a few of them.)

MY problem is finding a music-editing program that will record the carrier sound PLUS the human voice. The "carrier-sound" is the instrument that the vocoder blends with the human voice.

My music-editing program, PIANO ROLL COMPOSER, only records the carrier-sound. It uses onboard sounds called WAV. SYNTH.

In any case, I'm still working out my instrumentals because those tiny keys are hard to play and I keep making mistakes. So I'm constantly starting over. I didn't think music-editing would entail so much grunt-work!
