I downloaded the software from Korgs website - KP3 editor works fine (although I can't transmit samples after editing as it Times Out - so I'm trying to upgrade to latest version of the OS)
As soon as I launch the Updater I get the following;
Get a message box with 'You can't open the application KP3 Updater Sept-2007 because PowerPC applications are no longer supported'
Please note - read a few posts on here that suggested using a PC instead, unfortunately not an option as I don't have one just have the MacBook, sounds to me like the updater is out of date for the current Mac OS ? - is there a new version of the upgrade available from a different Korg site perhaps ?
Thanks very much in advance for any help
Trying to upgrade KP3 on Macbook with OSX10.7 - Fail :-(

I don't think that OSX 10.7 Lion even runs on PowerPC hardware, it's been pretty much just Intel from 10.5 or so. It seems to me the Korg updater is erroneous in displaying that message, which points to an incompatibility with 10.7 as indicated by the OP. But since it's just the one update, couldn't you borrow a friend's pc for an hour? Or even another Mac with Parallels?
I think you'll find that message is generated by the Mac OS, not the Korg application itself.
OS X 10.7 (Lion) does not have the Rosetta virtual machine needed to run programs written for the older PowerPC (non-intel) computers.
The updater is probably written as a PowerPC executable for backwards-compatibility.
On previous versions of OS X it was possible to run PowerPC executables using Rosetta.
Personally, I've only just upgraded to Snow Leopard.
