I somewhat come from an old analog synth background so I have no problem tweaking, modifying, or just plain screwing up sounds. My main problem is that I will dive in head first and often obliterate something that I've done. Just happened actually. Poop!

I have a bad habit of not saving my own patches! I tend to start with a preset, adjust it often beyond all recognition, record the result, then forget to save the patch so I can't easily recreate what I just recorded if I find myself wanting to redo it the next day

I'm usually hunting around for specific sounds from specific instruments. If I wanted to recreate these sounds myself, I wouldn't know where to start, and the learning curve seems way to steep.

Playing around is one thing, knowing the path to where you wanna go is another ball game.

I need that time to make music.

i chose the last option. I dont like to effect the factory presets to much and destroy the combination programmes in the process.

Runningman, if anyone is a trooper, you qualify. I sure hope you get your Kronos quickly...you have been a really good sport. My choice will probably be limited tweaking, but if that occurs, the changed preset will be renamed and sent to another location...I won't be interested in losing the factory programs. These surveys are very creative.

From demo'ing the Kro it has to be said that the power of the preset programmes are to good to lose. So the new empty banks with OS 1.5 is most welcome.

I do exactly the same on my m3.

Normally I'll play around with a sound, get it perfect for what I want, get carried away playing the keyboard then without thinking, change the program without saving. I can never manage ever to recreate it to my satisfaction again, but that could of course be my mind playing tricks on me.

I don't have a Kronos (yet), but I probably will use it like other Korgs: change a lot of combis to make my songs for the band in (and group them in set lists) ... and improve programs where needed. And since there are enough combi banks free it would not be a problem.

(But of course I welcome 1.5 because it is nice to have more programs available to chose from).

What with all the available user memory slots on the Kronos it will be some time before I'm over-writing the factory presets.
I recommend anybody first tries modifying the Polysix sounds. It's incredibly easy and you can very quickly come up with a new, cool sound. The M.S. 20 is also very easy. I'm just more used to the Polysix having owned one for years.

Hehe, I'm a tweaker, the Minimoog and Odyssey forced me to. The big fun in Kronos is all about synthesis. Yes I use presets, but always tweak them to suit the music. So I can't wait for the extra empty banks! I think I can fill two of them already, only with MOD-7 patches... This engine is great!

I am not tweaking individual programs as much as I am editing combis. For example, I have saved my favorite combis to a couple of set lists, and then I am going through each and adding lead sounds mapped to two external keyboards that sit on top, and just to the right of my Kronos. So I am not so much changing the original combi, but adding parts for live performance.

Speaking of tweaking! I'm trying to put in a program I printed off from Progsounds.com. It's a version of Derek Sherinian's monster lead. I put it onto my Triton Pro-X and it works fine but for some reason: maybe I'm dumb!: I can't seem to get any vibrato when I push the joystick forward. Definitely missing something.Anybody have any ideas? There are ceratinly a lot more parameters to work with here but that should not be a problem. Hmmmm.
