Function table

Post by dyndragon »

Hey all,

Just picked up a brand new SV-1 73, and for the life of me I can not find out how to assign the expression pedal to the wah instead of volume. Is there a table of functions that the function button has access to anywhere?

Also, does the wah/volume assignment get saved by favorites or is it a global setting?

Thank you so much!

I don't own an SV1 and don't know how to fix this specific issue, but if you bought the board without documentation you can get the manual from korg.com.
Generally it's useful to read the whole thing at least once (manual, not parameter guide), for a product like the SV1 it can't be very thick.

I did, and I even searched the PDF for "expression" or "wah" but nothing in there came up with an actual procedure for assigning pedal 2 to the wah function. By default it controls the volume/swell. There is no function table in the pdf.

I wouldn't come here asking before I checked the obvious :)

Well, the manual says:
The AUTO/PEDAL can be used when the wah effect is selected. When the button’s LED is off (Auto mode), the wah effect’s filter is set automatically depending on the sound and playing dynamics. When on (Pedal mode), you can control the filter with an expression pedal connected to the PEDAL 2 connector; if no pedal is connected, the wah is set to a fixed frequency. Calibrating the pedal is warmly suggested (see “Calibrating the pedals” on page 30).
NOTE: The parameters will be initialized when you select a different preset.
I don't have an expression pedal to try it out, but that seems straightforward to me.

Sigh. Sorry, I guess I look like a fool now.

It started working inexplicably on its own. Nevermind, I guess! Thanks.
