Hello,
I also have the problem with cutoff notes. It occurs mainly below the middle C. And mainly with sound with lots of attack, like piano or clav. But it also happens with strings if you listen closely.
Im thinking of getting it back to the shop, but thats a a problem because of my gigs that i have to play.
Maybe its better to wait for the software update? I hooe iets a software problem. What do you think?
My serial is around 9** and i live in the netherlands.

Well, I am in your situation and the first thing its to notify the problem to the shop and see what they say to you, I have choose to change my K88 for a K61 that will arrive next week to my shop, because the 88 its on order and I am not goint to wait again, I am not going to stay with a not 100% funtional unit for to much time. During next week if the new OS is out may be I give it a try.keekma wrote:Hello,

I feel for you, I really do. I still have the same problem, but I'm getting it fixed next week. Didn't want to return my own in the end, because no one knows when a replacement would arrive. The 88 is the hardest version to get, it seems.keekma wrote:Hello,

Anyway, the repair shop said they can fix EVERYTHING, so I'm confident with that. They are even able to exchange the whole keybed if needed. I have a pretty noisy fan as well, and the repair shop offered to exchange it to another pc-fan, guaranteeing it's quieter. So if you have other issues as well, better get them fixed at one go (you could even ask them to insert the extra 2 GB RAM if you want), and get a 100% working keyboard instead of waiting and wishing for a flawless unit.
Of course, that's just my two cents.

i have exactly the same, also with a k88 in the 9** series (delivered in holland). What i'm going to do is waiting for 1.5 to see if that solves the problem. Also the noisy fan problem should be fixed then.keekma wrote:Hello,

If it's not fixed with 1.5 then i will return the unit to the dealer. I can't use a keyboard that cuts notes during play for live performances. I didn't decide yet if i want a refund and go for the 61 keys or if i will get the k88 fixed.
But the keyboard in the current state is unusable due to the random cutoff notes behaviour. (one day it's really bad, the other day it's hardly noticeable).

Daar zijn we dus maar mooi klaar mee. Is natuurlijk het risico met een zo nieuw board. Kinderziektes!qrobinez wrote:i have exactly the same, also with a k88 in the 9** series (delivered in holland). I did some more research. I don't believe it' s a software issue. Ik played the kronos with my midikeyboard and there was no problem. Try hitting the B2 key al lot of times. When you feel closely you feel that is bounches two times very quickly. Other keys higher on the board don 't. And there are more keys below middle C who have the same bounche. I think because of the double bounche the cut off happens.
I will contact my dealer.
Do you know a korg servicepoint in the netherlands?
Good luck with your board.
I'm amazed by what I read. Just my 2 cents:
The first thing is to know what *you* want. Don't let the shop do what *they* want.the first thing its to notify the problem to the shop and see what they say to you
If the instrument is not working as expected, don't wait for a hypothetical solution; return it and get a it refunded or exchanged for a new one in working condition.Maybe its better to wait for the software update? What do you think?
Don't let a repair shop tinker with your brand new instrument. Get it refunded or exchanged for a new one.Anyway, the repair shop said they can fix EVERYTHING, so I'm confident with that.

That sounds prommising! Can you keep us posted to hear if the repair worked?
Good luck
Keekma: Yes, I will report how it's going.
exer: If they had a replace unit, I'd go that way. However, they don't and I don't have time to wait for another month or two. Xmas is coming and I have to be up and gigging. But why do you feel so negative about repair shops? This one is authorized by Korg and was highly recommended. He knows his stuff and when we talked on the phone, he suggested to replace my fan with a better one.
But you're very right about the waiting for the next OS. No one can say for sure, if the problem is fixed with a software update, so I'd be very sceptical.

After all these problems with the Kronos quality and because Korg does not comment on these issues, today I decided to cancel my reservation at Kronos 88 and return the money. It's sad, because some sounds of Kronos I really like.
Will wait some months and maybe go back to buying after the New Year.
It is obvious for me that Korg not needed my money right now.

A wise move, probably.Korgstream wrote:After all these problems with the Kronos quality and because Korg does not comment on these issues, today I decided to cancel my reservation at Kronos 88 and return the money. It's sad, because some sounds of Kronos I really like.

What I do not understand is: there are two different labels for the same keybed , or am I missing something?
Both labeled keyboards are having issues, so I don not see why a different label is needed.
Regards.

you should know that this is not a Korg service web site, this is a Korg keyboard user site.Korgstream wrote:After all these problems with the Kronos quality and because Korg does not comment on these issues, today I decided to cancel my reservation at Kronos 88 and return the money. True, a Korg employee might pop in to address a question. But they are not service employees. This you should understand. Korg has a well established process for service. And this has been communicated numerous times.
With a complex workstation, I do not believe it is practical or 100% accurate to do a full diagnosis on a workstation with a potential defect based on a few remarks on the Internet.
