What do all the lights which do not indicate anything remind you of?

Korg zero8 LED question

Post by midihendrix »

Hello forum,

I have just acquired a zero8, and I would like to know - Is there a way to turn off all the crazy lights? The really bug me as I am using this piece in the center of my studio and I do not want the 100s of orange and blue lights shining in my face.

As a side note, my mixer is NOT producing hiss. It actually sounds quite excellent. The mixer attenuates the inputs ALOT, and resultingly your inputted signals will be very weak. If you simply crank the gain and the master you will hear the noise floor. But if you adjust the input trim settings you can get the inputs nice and loud and keep the master not too loud.

Furthermore each channel seems to be down some db to prevent from clipping at the master. (probably one reason many people hate digital and go for analog).

Finally the VU meters are ugly, stupid, and useless for a mixer of this sort (my opinion). It seems like a novelty feature that cheapens the mixer look IMO. As with the christmas tree effect.....so, has anyone been able to disable the LEDs through software or otherwise?

I recommend a piece of tape  . There are worse things to complain about with this piece of hardware, I'm afraid, so if everything is functioning properly just consider yourself lucky and move on with life.
