After playing with the Wavedrum I can't help but fantasize about the creation of a full drumset, with wavecymbals and everything. Would put any traditional drum trigger/VST combo to shame including all the coveted V-drums.

I can't believe how hard it is to go back to my v-drums after playing with the wavedrum.
I was hinting at Korg putting out a (Roland) V-drums killer though with an all-in-one out of the box solution. That will be killer!
All they would have to do is put out a wavedrum kit, with cymbals of course, and all of a sudden V-drums wouldn't be the household name of electronic percussion any longer...
I looked up freestock and read about modifications a bit. It sounds like you are saying I could get a small quiet/practice kit and trigger the wavedrum with these... what about cymbals tho... and variable openness hi hats..

yes the Zildjian Gen 6's are an electro acoustic instrument like the WD,however unlike theWD the can be played acoustically.if u really want a WD kit u just need to buy as many WD as u wld like in yr kit and assemble them to yr requirements,if there is a pro drum shop in yr area they can assist if u need some custom hardware.

thats seems to be a very cool product
and fill out the gap of the kind of missing cymbal sounds on the WD.
playing a real alloy cymbal + triggering from a condenser mic
shure makes it sound very realistic ....(better than a piezo?)
(I hope sbd will fix a piezo to a cymbal and test this one day soon)
btw , WDX can also get triggered by a microfone ,
its a little bit tricky ,but OK

and in a utube they are talking about "dsp sound engine"(like WD)
were they also talking about samples ?
so it seems to be a a very flexible sound engine
this is what I found in the manual of the "classic" 1994 Wavedrum
Algorithm No 53 ......(not included in WDX)
This algorithm produces the sound of a hi-hat cymbal.
If you assign the Decay parameter to the expression pedal,
you can use the pedal to open/close the hi-hat.
and fill out the gap of the kind of missing cymbal sounds on the WD.

I would be happy with a Wave drum module that had midi and external connections for hi hat and pedals and other trigger inputs. The just let us go wild getting the bits we want. They could obviously have WD tirggers and heads/rims ready to sell but come on it can't be that hard. Hell make it a new addition to the Kronos but give us a source at least!

As much as a fully integrated Wavedrum kit would appeal to some of us, I can tell you that there is nothing on the immediate horizon for such a thing.
I did vote "yes" though.
