Website for M3 touch-screen failures?

Post by gurn »

I'll buy the domain if somebody wants to design the website for
Korg M3 touch-screen problems.

I just had another failure tonight and I am pissed.
Now I go through the stupid routine again.

1. Turn it off.
2. Turn it over.
3. Turn it on again.
4. Leave it on all night.

I was doing some serious recording and now it is non-functional.
I am really annoyed.

Any web designers willing to help me publicize this?

Why not contact Korg instead of creating a website of this kind?
Try contacting your Korg Distributor: http://www.korg.co.jp/English/Distributors/

if screen is broken just buy new if you dont have guaranty.

I don't know if it is a 'mass' problem. But a lot of owners have the same problem.

Same stupid routine. I left it on all night.

In the morning I turn it off, over & on again.
And now it works. In the meantime, I've lost
12 hours - at least - of a session.

I'm getting very tired of this stupid routine.

I will contact them by email. But what are the possibilities with that?

1. Spend $2K on a trip to japan to fix a 1K synth that is defective?

2. Ship it to an authorized repair center. Lose the synth for weeks.
3. Pay for the repair.
4. Hassle with customs on the way back.

5. All of this for a synth that should work properly to begin with?

This is a great-sounding piece of gear. But it is a very unreliable piece
of gear. And I am not alone on this.

Mhhh....Life can be as hard as you will make it...Come on, take the M3 to a korg dealer to fix it, no japan trip, no customs, just patience...

it's not so easy... i mean, i had my M50 to authorized korg center in the same country where i live and it takes 3 weeks to have the synth back!

luckily i play for hobby and not to earn money, but i can assure that playing live with a keyboard that is not your keyboard is quite annoying... i guess it can be irritating if you ern money with it...

but it's the only way to have it repaired properly so...

I know, I live with what I get from each show, and the piano lessons. However, It is easy for me to ask to other keyboard player, or pianist, to borrow me some synth....When I had to repair my synt (previous ones) some friend borrow me his keyboard...And mine was almost 3 weeks at the dealer...But as I planned the shedule, to have it as fast as possible, It was not a mess with my work...

Have you thought about buying a replacement part and fixing it yourself or getting a local electrical place to do it?

I found it quite hard to find part suppliers but I found one in the US (sure there's more, my google skills are failing today :) ) that ships worldwide

There are no Korg dealers in the nation I live in.
To my knowledge, there are no authorized Korg dealers in
any nation bordering where I live. (Except in Hong Kong)
I looked for one in Guangzhou when I was visiting.
There was an address. I went there. But when I got
there it was a plumbing supply business.

There are no authorized Korg dealers within 700 miles
of where I live.

The closest Korg dealer is either Kuala Lumpur or Singapore.
So my choice is shipping & customs hassles. OR...2 round-trip
plane tickets with hotels.

It's a great-sounding synth. I've made some good music with it.
But the touch-screen sucks.

It is reliable. I can rely on it to fail. But it's not worth a $2K trip.
And if I ship it off, I may never see it again.

So I go through the motions.

1. Turn it off.
2. Turn it over.
3. Turn it on again.
4. Leave it on all night.
5. Turn it off.
6. Turn it over again.
7. Turn it on & wait for the next screen failure.

You've been posting about this for months now. Why don't you get it fixed or scrap it and get something else? s**t happens - get over it!
