Monotribe update problems
Is anyone having problems updating, mine fails as soon as it starts (after the header) with seq lights 1-4 lit and sometimes 1-4 & 7 lit.
I have tried everything i can think of new batteries, psu, different players(computer and external), different volumes, i even tried recording to tape and trying it the old way, same outcome.
I am puzzled

Sounds like you have tried everything - but did you try downloading the wav again in case it was corrupted?
Any addition such as an audio glitch or blank space in the signal I guess would cause it to be rejected.
I had similar problems to you - it wouldn't load from laptop or ipod whatever the volume setting - & that was using my MicroSampler's PSU. In the end I tried my iPad & it accepted it immediately. Not sure what was wrong with the other equipment. Outside interference such as a central heating pump shouldn't be an issue with normal suppressed equipment, but again this would affect it.
Audio sync is a clever idea but a bit hit or miss in practice. The update is brilliant though & greatly extends the Monotribe's musicality - so bravo to KORG for their creative thinking. Hope you sort it.

Something else to note when updating...
Some audio players can chop the beginning and the end of audio files off when playing, I noticed VLC player sometimes does this. I used WMP at 75% vol from the headphone out of a laptop.
Also remember to turn off any alerts or anything that may chime during the update, also mobile phone interference etc.
I have made a video of every new feature here...

mono tribe v.2 update problemo
When i power up the the mono tribe holding down flux, HH and 1st step keys as advised these don't light up but SYNTH, BD & SN do. I attempted the update anyway but it didn't work, no surprise there given the above. Any suggestions please?
Just to offer up my experience, I too found that the sound file was a .m4a file. I could play it in some programs but not in Winamp, so I suspected something was up, and that was confirmed when the update didn't work when I tried to play the file in other programs.
I renamed it manually to .wav and played it in SoundForge and it worked - I'm not sure why on earth the rename was required but the zip file definitely contained a .m4a file. Playing it in Winamp, Windows Media Player and Quicktime didn't work so I suspect all three were modifying the start of the sound file in some way.
