NEVER DOWNGRADE YOUR M3 FROM THE NEW V2.0.0 to V1.x

Post by iixorbiusii »

Hi,

As the title says, don't be tempted to reload the old O/S if you want to have your M3 'back to how it was before the upgrade' (e.g. to continue working with old songs etc).

Doing this, will put your M3 into a state where it cannot start up.

There will be a converter coming from Korg soon, to convert your songs and combis to the new 'order' in the V2.0.0 upgrade.

Please see here: http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=37704

Cheers.

Just a suggestion, but it would be a good idea if the next OS could detect a downgrade from 2.x to 1.x and not allow it to happen.

If someone have a M3 downgraded that can not boot anymore...
my question is:
the OS is on the SD?
If so, couldn't copy on that chip the informations of other SD with OS 2.0.4 ??
As I said, is just an idea , I don't know the mainboard/system structure.

Yes you can do it that way if you know someone with a spare SD card with the exact same M3 system and hardware as you. Also see this article:

So maybe some users with M3-M, M3-61, M3-76, and M3-88 can upload each one SD Card copy to help the Korg Forums database ;) , and if someone did have downgraded and have trouble, to download them.
It's just and idea...
