So far we know that both Roland and Casio are launching something new according to their websites.

Then there's the drum thing from Nord, and a new "instrument" from Moog.

That's the "official" word from those respective companies.

Speculation wise, it is rumored (as it has been for the past 5 years) that Kurzweil are finally gonna announce the K3000.

Yamaha might announce a new type of synthesizer.

As far as Korg goes, I really don't know.

Either of those events would indeed be amazing.

K3000 - not gonna happen for awhile. Not right now. Yamaha? Would love to see if they have some new ace in their sleeve. XF didn't do it for me.

Just a passing thought... but Steven Kay has not been around here for a while; he has posted on his own site that he's mega-busy at the moment...

Would this point to work he's doing on a new version of Karma for a new Yamaha?

Would love to see him release KARMA as a VSTi with it’s own sound engine.

We will not be at NAMM but will be launching "Open Studio Live" in London, at a combined press launch and investor event, probably in March.

Korg always pull it out of the bag for innovation and cool music gizmos (in a way that R and Y don't..)
But at the end of the day, people wants synths!

How many incarnations of the Monotron will we have to sit through before Korg release their inevitable first fully programmable analog synth in 30 years? Even microkeys would do!

It it too much to ask that Korg announce a genuinely playable Monotron? Or do they have wait till after the pink and beige Monotribes series to disappear first..
GOT: MicroSampler, MicroKorg (original)

HAD: MicroKorg XL, Nord Electro 3 73, Roland Sonic Cell, Novation Xiosynth 49, Electribe EA-1 mk2, Electribe ER-1 mk2, Triton LE61, Novation A-Station, X5DR, Novation Bass Station, X5

STUDIO: iMac 3.33GHz/4GB RAM, Ableton Live 6, NI Komplete 7, M-Audio Keystation 88, NanoKontrol

Here we go again...

I just look at the countdown on the Roland Connect site...
15 days !!!

Man that's too long !!!

Well, there's not much rumours this year, from anybody !!!

So either everybody's holding their tongue or there's really nothing interesting... :(
TGFK - Thanks God For Korg

Can't see Roland revealing anything big. Maybe 'other' gear (drums, mixers, recorders and the like) but not keys.

Same with Korg - no way can they launch something new whilst they've got the Kronos issues to deal with.

Yamaha is most likely to have something big and new to launch... we'll have to wait and see!

I have fixed my GAS budget for 2012 and so will be very interested in what the big 3 will reveal :)
