Hi yobachi, to be honest you would be setter off keeping XP as an OS. The reason being that W7 can be a real pain in the A** with midi programs. What I would suggest if you have enough space on your hard drive is to create a partition and Dual boot to W7, that way you can have the best of both worlds..

However back up your entire system to an Expansion Drive before attempting anything like this.

Microsoft Office Outlook 2003

To back up the Contacts folder, you need to export the folder to a file in Personal Folders file (.pst) format.

On the File menu, click Import and Export.
Click Export to a file, and then click Next.
In the Create a file of type list, click Personal Folder File (.pst), and then click Next.
In the Select a folder to export from list, click Contacts.
If you have subfolders below the Contacts folder that you want to include, select the Include subfolders check box.
Click Next.
Click Browse, choose a location for the file, such as My Documents, and then type a name for your backup file, such as ContactsBackup.pst.
Click OK.
Click Finish.
In the Name box, type My Contacts Backup.
Type the encryption and password settings if you need them, and then click OK.
Copy it to a USB Stick for safe keeping...

Personal Folders file (.pst) Data file that stores your messages and other items on your computer. You can assign a .pst file to be the default delivery location for e-mail messages. You can use a .pst to organize and back up items for safekeeping.

Hope this helps..

Hello Yobachi,
You can migrate outlook from xp to windows 7 using backup and migrate tools. This tool backs up all your Outlook attributes such as mails, contacts, tasks, calendars and your Outlook settings from Windows xp. When you upgrade your computer to Windows 7 this tool restores your Outlook data the exact way how it was in your previous OS.
Download the software and migrate MS Outlook data from xp to windows 7.
Hope it works.:)
