PadKontrol Transmitting User messages (User 1-5)

Hi, im trying to figure out how i can use this function to send midi messages to geists transport ie. toggle record on and off, or play etc.. SO when i want to start recording (or stop) i can just hold down 'message' and hit the corresponding user (1-5)

Ive got as far as setting up my controller data in the global settings on the controller editor and have transmitted it over to the padkontrol, but when i try to assign this message to the record button in geist, all i get is note-on data and am unable to toggle between on and off (record and stop record)

If there is a simple solution to this and somebody knows i would be very gratefull if you could help me through this!

Use a pad, switch-type toggle, on value 127, release value 0.

Than use the MIDI learn-function in geist.
