Hello all! Id like to drop a question in case somebody can give me a hint.
I own a Korg PA 588 arranger and Im using Kontakt 5 with some excellent pianos so as I don’t have monitors (yet) for sound output I connect my Sound Blaster (Audigy) “line out” to the Korg “line in” so I can hear the sound through the Korg speakers but the problem is I hear an awful background noise on the headphones not heard when the connection with the pc (cable) is disconnected and only using the normal built-in sounds.
Ive muted ALL possible “devices” in SoundBlaster like MIC, CD, etc and only leaving unmated the line-out but no difference, still hearing noise (like static noise).
If I check the “Only digital output” in SB control panel the noise completely disappears but of course no sound, as Korg input is not digital.
The only thing I can think of is that is the cable the responsible of the noise. The cable Im using is http://www.reparoordenadoresbarcelona.c ... e_korg.jpg
Maybe the cable is not good and is introducing this (like radio) interference?
Im stuck and Id like to find a solution for this so to be able to keep on using Kontakt, but whithout background noise, that makes unpleasant to play piano
Any help or hints on what to do would be much appreciated.
Thanks to all!

Hi diegopefm ,
I think you need a ground loop isolator .
they are avaiable from €10,- to €250,- .
Google the net for extra info ,

Problem solved!
Hello Willem! Finally I found the key to my “noisy” problem myself and I post it here in case there is someone with the same problem as me.
Finally, it turned out to be the fact that my Creative soundcard is internal (PCI) and it was receiving a lot of interference through the fan coolers or maybe the PC power supply, so I ended up buying the new Sound Blaster X-Fi HD USB with a good quality cable and … voilá!, not only the noise disappeared, now the sound is also perfectly clear, 100% no noise!
I hope it helps someone, and of course many thanks for your reply!

I was wrong
I was definitely wrong and you were definitely right Willien!!!
It ended in that the responsible of the noise was the electricity, as you said.
The fact I heard NO noise at all was that I was using the laptop with battery and the power cable unplugged, but as soon as I connected the laptop power adaptor the disgusting hum started on Korg speakers!!
Now I think Ill have to buy a ground loop isolator as you adviced, so Ill try and then Ill post a comment.
Thanks Willien!!
