I noticed soon after getting my Kronos that when saving or writing the NIACIN Wah patch aftrer I set the patch to dual keyboards instead one that the change did not take, though others settings I changed were saved. I tried this a couple times just to make sure. The program always reverted to the default of a single B3 drawbar setup. Easily changed of course by hitting the joystick but I don't want that as the default.
Then yesterday I noticed when making new German Grand programs that changes I made to the effects were not saved. Has anyone else experienced that when trying to save changes to a program that not all the changes you were implementing were preserved? Has anyone had success?
Writing/saving program edits glitch?

You do know that "writing" and "Saving" are two entirely separate processes, correct. You have to "write" the edits into internal memory and then you can "save" all of that to the SSD. I am not trying to talk down to you, I just want to make sure we are on the same page.

If the joystick or other controls is assigned to some kind of effect, perhaps like wah with a latching setting, you will find that the position of the joystick or other controls is not saved with the patch. This is normal, but in some cases the effect may be unexpected.
For example if you were programming and had hit the latch on JS+Y or -Y halfway or full-way, when loading the program again the joystick will be latched but the sound will be as if the joystick is at zero, not the position that you latched it at.

I did realize that the setting could be changed on either the effects or the tonewheel page in the instances I referred to where the changes were not saved. Yes I was wrting the progams, either overwriting the existing program, or writing to a new blank user slot. So yes X-trade, you are right if the controllers like the joystick and/or knobs assigned to effects are changed mostly (but not always, as in changing Karma parameters) they do not "stick" they return to zero. Thanks!
Another thing to note - on previous korgs at least the 'realtime' controls do not alter a program and their position isn't saved. They are purely assignable sources that can be used for many things in a program.
The joystick, damper pedal, after touch, etc. can also be considered 'realtime controls'.
However, the relatively new 'tone adjust' controls mode DOES directly change program parameters, so they are great for programming.
