I am certainly looking forward to the editor, but being a software developer myself am very familiar with problems that can suddenly come up and it takes much longer to deliver than originally expected - even when you try to account for such things.
fortunately, by whining and complaining on the Internet, things will get done

Maybe but not getting the editor out 12 months down the track is a massive fail.
Is the Kronos Editor the new "Duke Nukem Forever"?

The 12 month mark won't be for a while considering the KRONOS didn't ship until almost mid-year.
When they launched it at Namm they said you could download a editor. They didn't say you would be able to download a editor at sometime in the future they simply said it would be available to download when the keyboard shipped. It's over 12 months since they said that and its not available .. end of story. They have failed to deliver their product which wasn't a just keyboard it was a keyboard AND a editor ....therefore the Kronos as they specified it when they launched it is not complete. I have not got what I paid for, sure i got a lot of thing I didn't pay for for free ... like a faulty keyboard, noisy fan, broken controls, flimsy build quality and no communication from Korg but they don't quite make up for the lack of a editor.

So if you are so negative about the Kronos, why not sell it? Most people are very happy with it.
Btw, You got 8 more program banks, more sample space etc for free and even unannounced. If you are referring to the dial wheel, it's fixed. If you are refrring to the faulty keyboard, you can get a replacement. The only really valid comment you make is the lack of communication.
I'm kinda disappointed by the non-release of this mythical Mac-based Editor. I thought maybe they'd bring it out at NAMM. Serves me right for believing sometimes what I read in Keyboard or EM magazines...
But having been a SW eng myself for 20+ (too many) years, I tend to think that the writer below is probably right. There are personnel and many other considerations I can imagine that might pressure Korg to de-prioritize such a project. We'll never know.
Since I hate trying to edit on a tiny (and probably fragile) touchscreen, I'd really like to see that Editor though! I still remember the original OASYS PCI Editor... since it was just a PCI board, a host-computer-based editor was an integral part of the product.
meanwhile, the following is still found in the "1.5 new features" PDF that I just downloaded today:
"KRONOS Editor and Plug-In Editor
Version 1.5 adds support for the KRONOS Editor and
Plug‐In Editor, which let you edit and organize sounds
from your Mac OS X or Windows computer. Plug‐in
operation allows you to save settings as part of your
project with any VST‐compatible Windows software,
or any VST‐ or AU‐compatible software on Mac OS X.
The KRONOS Editor and Plug‐In Editor will be
available for free download at www.korg.com/kronos."
That's an exact and full quote.

I wouldn't be surprided if there's one or two guys at Korg working on the editor at most, and it would be naive to assume that it's simply a matter of getting more programmers on board (although it would be nice to believe that!).
