Korg Kontrol Editor not working
Hello,
I'm new to this forum and this is the first time for me to post here.
It's about Korg's Kontrol Editor.
I purchased nanoKey, nanoPad, and nanoKontrol and downloaded and successfully installed Korg Kontrol Editor along with their drivers to my iMac (Mac OS 10.6.2, Intel Core duo) but I cannot open the application. I could see the logo screen, but then it shut down immediately with the following error message:
"Korg Kontrol Editor quit unexpectedly"
I've been asking Korg Product Support for a half year now, giving them as much information as possible, but we couldn't fix it yet...
I could run the application on a different user on the same iMac, though, so I think it's like the application is conflicting with other existing files under my user...? But I don't know where to look.
What I tried so far were:
I completely deleted the app and drivers then re-installed them. They are up-to-date.
I also cleaned up application cache.
I also tried to fix permission using Disk Utility.
Does anybody know what files/folders the application is refering/using?
Or if anyone could tell me what I should do that would be wonderful.
Thank you!!

Same problem here on MacBook Pro running OS 10.6.8
Have you found a solution? I am having the same exact issue and unable to find anyone who figured it out. This really aggravates as I need to be able to edit this thing.
Thanks for any help~

Re : Korg Kontrol Editor not working
Hi,
Unfortunately I could not find a solution for the problem.
Were you using older Mac OS X before and used Migration Assistant when upgrading your OS to 10.6?
Since I actually could open the application with a different login account on my Mac, and also the fact that I used Migration Assistant when moving everything from my old iMac G5, I suspected that files in my account's library which were carried over might cause the problem.
By the way, I've contacted Korg's support back in December 2009. I gave them all the information I have as well as crash reports. The last thing I heard from them was "I'm still awaiting word back from our engineers" in February 2010. I've never heard from them ever since.
They didn't reply to me even when I sent them friendly check-in e-mails a couple of times.
Because of the problem itself and the support, I sold all of my Nano series to be done with it.

What A bummer!
Thanks for the reply ~ That is really disappointing to hear. I will try a couple more things, but may have to do the same.
All the best!

Check to see that this is the version you are using.

This is version 2. It finally recognized my nanoPad2.
Weird. I tried to update the link in a new post and it's blank. Note the updated link above.

But why are you running 10.6.2?skittlegirl wrote:…my iMac (Mac OS 10.6.2, Intel Core duo)…
The final version of 10.6 is 10.6.8 (I'm using it on both of my MB Pros) – it's a mature OS, a lot of problems have been fixed after 10.6.2 and there's no reason whatsoever to run an earlier version of OS 10.6.
Download and install the 10.6.8 combo update ASAP before anything else, would be my advice.
Best,
Joachim
