Minimoogs have 3 oscillators which is something that no 1 single instance of an EXi does in the Kronos. AL-1 probably comes closest giving you the ability to blend 2 waveforms together in 1 single oscillator. That coupled with the unique abilities of the multi-filter should serve as a good starting point for Minimoog sounds.

Other options would include starting with an instance of MS-20EX or PolysixEX and adding another instance to get more oscillators to mix together (oh, the Minimoog has- apart from 3 oscillators- a noise source and an external source; something to keep in mind).

Apart from all this just remember that Minimoogs- and most other Moog boards- have just a 3-stage EG (contour generator in Moog parlance).

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Most of the time, I tend to only use 2 of my Voyager's Oscillators for sound-sources anyhow. 3d oscillator I typically use as a modulation source. Thinking along those lines makes it a bit easier to achieve similar results. :)

also, you can use the sub oscillator in AL-1 to get that third OSC sound, depending on what you are using it for.

Both very true. There is definitely no shortage of ways to emulate the sounds, it's just up to what sound you're going for and the architecture that best suits it.

yep same here on both my Voyager and 72 Mini. Hardly really use 3 Oscs together.. only time is for when I want to do chord on a key type of stuff.. In such situations I might try a 1 - 4 - 7 kind of tuning.

In fact I find most of the best leads on the Mini come from a single Osc. There is a definite sweet spot on the Mini...

That should make it that much easier to emulate with AL-1 or MS-20EX. I've never owned a Mini (although I do have the official Minimug! :) ) but I absolutely love the sound of my Rogue with detuned saws going! Also squares tuned to P4/P5 sound absolutely amazing!

Thanks for most of you all!

All I wanted to ask is there a minimoog sound like in The Beatles Song "Here Comes The Sun"? If there isn't, what is the best way to recreate it.
Current Gear: Korg Kronos 88, Korg M3, Roland FP-7
