Playing MIDIs on a Korg i30??

Post by drwatson »

Hi Guys. Having a problem playing MIDIs on my Korg i30. I bought it from a friend so I am unfamiliar with i30.

The manual said that unformatted discs must be formatted with the Korg format. I have done this from the MENU button, and it has formatted properly.

My problem now, is that my computer cannot load the .mid files onto the newly formatted disc, (some do copy) but most of them say error code 0x800706f9 cannot copy file.

HELP!! I need to play midis on my keyboard. Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks all..

MIDI on i30

My i30 plays .mid file without problem.
I don't think you need to Korg format the disk; just a regular 1.44MB formatted disk will do.
BTW, I replaced my floppy drive with a USB floppy emulator and it works flawlessly.
It cost be about $100.00 but it is worth it. I can simulate up to 100 1.44MB floppies.
