Does anyone know íf it is possible to assign the damper pedal only to a certain set of keys in combi mode?
In the lower part of the keyboard I have a string pad and in the other I have an attacking brass sound. I don't want to ruin the brass by using the pedal, but the chord changes in the left hand are impossible to make good without one, so is there a possibility to assign the sustain to only one part of the keyboard?

Adchiapin is correct in that the midi filter page (under combi edit menu) is the place to look for this.
Actually, what you are doing on the midi filter page is deciding whether the damper pedal (one of many parameters you can chose to send via midi or turn off -- this applies to internal as well as external midi) is active for a particular track. So you can, for example, take it off just the brass voices as you want to.
However, it's not assignable by zone (i.e., left hand range) unless the range assigned to the track you have damper active on (checked) is also limited in that way.
So you can't impose damper only on the lower end of the brass track without first splitting it left & right.

However, since you're in Combi mode, presumably your string pad is one track and the brass is on another. So, as Bill said, you can have the damper active on the track containing the string pad and inactive on the track which contains the brass.
