Many thanks Rich, especially for maintaining a presence on this forum. It's guys like you and Stephen Kay and all the other dialed-in contributors that's a big factor in my decision to purchase the K-88.RichF wrote:KapnKrunch, sorry, no RTAS support at present. Hope this helps!

With regard to the VST wrapper, I do have the FXpansion VST to RTAS adapter product, and hopefully it handles the Kronos plugin; FXpansion hasn't updated their converter since 2006.
Ideally no RTAS support "at present" means a true native plugin is somewhere on the horizon.

We know that's the STR1 Rich, and HD1 is probably being the 2nd weakest out thereRichF wrote:Hi guys,
Also, I have to say, the HD-1 engine definitely isn't the weakest part of Kronos.

Can we get an in depth demo of HD1 please? Quality of HD1 is really becoming a sensitive issue to a number of folks I know, myself included! If I hear you (all the demos so far are scratching the surface of HD1) and if the "surface" - i.e. carefully selected best part of the story for demonstration purpose is THAT bad, you know what's the perception out there in market market. If you prove 'out of the box' capability and competitiveness (please read it as being downright superior to all workstations and comparable to the VIs out there) of HD1, I am in the game, else I'm going to pass. Period.

The ribbon controller does different things, depending on the sound that you're playing. You just press it with your finger, and as you move it horizontally, it modifies the sound somehow.
It's often assigned to level or filter parameters, but you can assign it to dozens of different things.
On some Programs/Combis, SW2 (the second switch above the lower joystick) will memorize your finger's position on the ribbon, so you can free up your left hand.

In addition, you can assign the ribbon to control KARMA such that sweeping the ribbon causes glissandos of notes, or strums of a guitar.RichF wrote:The ribbon controller does different things, depending on the sound that you're playing. Have you (or anyone else) successfully used a VST wrapper for the Kronos editor? As far as I know, FXpansion is the only one out there, and I just tried it, and it wraps, but does not function in Pro Tools.
