Just switched from Yahama to Korg.

Post by asadkeyboards »

Hello All,

I have a few questions for you!

I just switched from the Yamaha S-910 to the Korg Pa3X. :)

1. I can import the midi files I created in the S-910 into the sequencer mode. I notice that it plays using the sounds native to the Pa3X. (Obviously!). Although, I also cannot help but notice, that only 2 tracks are lighting up when I play it. (it does play drums and bass but it only shows violin and strings being played on 2 channels- I used 8 channels to record it on the Yamaha). How can I import all the instruments being played on the file and assign them to different channels and then edit them? (change the drum kits/sounds)

2. My Yamaha saved style files in a .STY format. Can these be played on the Pa3x? If yes, how can I import them, and assign native drum kits ?

I thank you in advance for your help!

Best Regards,

Asad.

#2. : Sorry, but Yamaha styles won't work on Korg, and they are not easily converted.

I just don't get it, Asad.
You buy an expensive top-line keyboard, and you don't know it has a completely different style format?

Don't you do some research before you make a purchase like that?

Beats me.

1. Press the "Track" button on the left hand side of the scrren.
This will show up track 9-16, may be the parts are recorded there.

2. There are plenty of converted yamaha styles in the download section of this forum.

You can download them all and enjoy.
The best part is the download section of pa1x, pa2x pa800 all will work with Pa3x.

Have Fun.
