Is It The Key Bed?

Post by bamboozer »

Upon a cold start up my M3 61 will lose A, Ab or G in the second octave from the top. After being on awhile the note comes back but the release seems longer than ajacent keys. This is for all sounds. It should be noted that its not always the same key, some times the A, some times the Ab or G. Never all three. It's been down to the local Korg place and thier "technician" seems helpless to fix it. Whats my next step?

Try connecting the module with an external keybed/midi controller via midi and see if happens the same. This way you'll know if the problem is on the m3 keybed or the module itself.

If is just problem of the m3 keybed it can be easily fixed by changing the plastic key contacts underneath.
