So did you bought those. For the low price, you should get and try those

Drey,

If you are having a keybed problem you should take your Kronos back to the store where you purchased it. Every Country that sells Korg products has a Korg Country Distributor which is responsible for all sales and service in that country.

I would not do the repair yourself.

The repair and parts should be free, covered by your Korg Warranty.
Part of the retail price you pay helps pay for service by the Korg Country Distributor.

Here is a list of the Korg Country Distributors:
http://www.korg.co.jp/English/Distributors/index.html

Where did you buy your Kronos? Which country?
** KORG Product Support Contacts **
(they support BOTH hardware and software)

Korg USA Product support -- https://www.korgusa.com/contactus (For fastest service I would suggest calling them on the phone)

Outside the U.S. contact your Korg Country Distributor -- https://www.korg.com/us/corporate/distributors/

In theory, this is the best approach. But after learning you may have to wait months for the repair, doing this by yourself really makes more sense.

The part number of those contacts is pretty similar to the part number of the RH3 keybed. So I guess those must be the correct ones

I've had my new Kronos 88 for roughly a month before finally concluding that I had keybed issues. Unlike some of the more pronounced issues I've read about - my unit simply seemed to have an extrodinarily stiff kebed. In the absence of obvious problems such as dead keys or stuck keys - drawing a distinction between what's simply a "stiff keybed" versus what is a "defective" keybed was not an easy decision.

I ultimately decided to look into sending it back. Damn was that good call on my part. The return/exchange process was quick and painless. I dropped my original unit off with the Fedex folks with my RMA info and a vendor supplied returning shipping airbill just before noon this past Monday (4/30) and received a brand new unit today (Thursday 5/3).

I am completely relieved that the Save of my custom patches, combis and setlists that I performed just prior to shutting down the original unit for the last time - loaded without a hitch.

Within 20 minutes of openng the box - I'm right where I left off in terms of my customing my sound palatte! Best of all I love how the new keybed feels! Those p, pp and ppp passages that were nearly impossible to play on the original unit feel great on the replacement unit!

It sucks that it was perfect out of the box - but I gotta say, my experience in terms of service from my retailer (Sweeterwater) made this a relatively painless fix!

1. When and where you had the repair performed
Ontario Audio Video - Authorized Korg repair centre
Reported: November 2011 on Serial # 2122 which was replaced by Serial # 3073 but same issue with note cutoff appeared within days. The first unit also had stuck keys which were fixed by Ontario AV but unable to fix the cutoff notes.
Shipped: 1. May
Received: 1. May
2. Which model (73 or 88 )
88
2. Any information you were told about the specific repair made
Replaced rubber contacts, I saw the new blue strips and was given the old pink contacts3.
The results -- did the fix work?
Yes! The pianos play like a charm now! I was also happy with the quick turnaround time to make the fix.
4. Serial Number (optional)
3073

1. When and where you had the repair performed
EMI Audio on 5/7/2012

2. Which model (73 or 88 )
88 Key

3. Any information you were told about the specific repair made
Initially it was going to be the full keybed replacement (back in March). In April I was told Korg will only be sending the contact pads as the fix. I asked about the irregular spacing between keys as well.

4. The results -- did the fix work?
Yes! The feel is less stiff, less bouncy (esp pinky finger) when playing pianissimo. No note cutoff issues at all. Very enjoyable to play now. I don't have to constantly think about the way I hit the notes with my weaker fingers.

There were a few keybed screws that were 1/2 way loose...honest mistake? No scratches seen on my mint keyboard. :-) Yeaaah

Aftertouch does seem more easily actuated. I did re-calibrate aftertouch pre & post fix.

The guy at EMI said there were several spots to adjust the key spacing and he tried to fix the key spacing as best as he could, but I noticed no difference. I'm wondering if he thought I said spacing from the edge of the keyboard (where the card spacers go). Not a big deal! 1mm here 1 mm there.

Overall this has been an awesome keyboard! Steep learning curve for programming, endless possibilities. And now a working keybed.

5. Serial Number (optional)
2033

1. When and where you had the repair performed
Korg UK, via Bonners Music Ltd, 10th April - 23rd April.

2. Which Model
73 key

3. Any information you were told about the specific repair made.
None, but I think they replaced the keybed.

4. The results - did the fix work?
Yes and no. Yes, in that I no longer get note cutoff from any key (originally it was just the C3 key). No, in that I can no longer get the full velocity range, which I could before. With the usual curves 4 or 9 I can only get up to about 113. I can get it up to 125 on curve 6, but it is difficult to control the soft end on that curve. This is the only usable velocity curve now. Informed Korg UK, and they promised to investigate, but thus far have not asked for it to be returned. Not sure whether it is hardware or software, I guess.

Hi,

1.6. I upgraded shortly before returning it ot the dealer.

This post is actually replicating what I had already said in a separate thread, apologies for that. But I saw that another user reported the keyboard being stiff above, so though it worth putting that data point in the same thread, so people know to check for it.
