Sutain Pedal Problem (recording wrong value)

Post by kakipaki »

Hi, I have a issue with my sv-1.

whenever I record some midi with sv-1 and its pedal (into protools 10),

protools records wrong sustain value.

for example, there are only 0, 127 in cc 64(sustain) isn't it?

but protools always records 38 and 74 whenever I use sv-1 and its sustain pedal.

so I used another master keyboard with same sustain pedal, It didn't happened.

I wonder it is normal or not.

The SV-1 (when used with the supplied pedal) supports half-pedalling, so I'm not surprised that the pedal doesn't just produce 0 and 127.

Haven't looked at the actual values mine produces though.

Try pushing the pedal halfway. It should be possible to get other values out of it as well.

In Digital Performer I generally get about four levels of pedaling. The half-pedalling is a nice touch. What would be REALLY nice would be to have a complete set of samples for the soft-pedal sound -- the one time I tried plugging in a pedal for soft-pedal, it seemed to just cut the volume way down (like, so far down it was musically useless). Is there some way to edit that behavior in the Editor?
