Korg Triton Octave Registers Off

Post by DTonga »

I have a Korg Triton Pro (classic) that the octave registers are way off. The highest keys play the lower octave notes, and every octave register plays the opposite register....ex. C7 - B7 plays notes C0 - B0; C6 - B6 plays notes C1 - B1; C5 - B5 plays notes C2 - B2, etc....I've already powered down & unplugged the Triton for over a month, reloaded the factory settings from the original factory discs. And still no changes. I was told to pull the battery and replace it after 24 hours, but after much research, I've found out that there is no internal battery in the Triton Classics. I'm down to my wit's end. Please advise any other steps to reset the Triton back to normal.

I'm suspicious of the fact that, while the registers are upside down, the keyboard is still playable. This smacks of something done deliberately - possibly to compensate for a set of multi-samples being loaded up in reverse order.

Check under Global settings to see if you are using a USER scale - it is just possible that someone has set up a scale to play the way you describe... and if the "remember last setting" check-box is checked then powering off will not return you to the "normal" scale.

The fix is to make sure that you're using the "normal" (usually Tempered) scale.

Same Issue

Post by matts00 »

I just had this issue come up last night. I shut the triton pro down while I was in sequence mode and when it came back up the octave register was off. There was nothing changed in the option to cause this. Are there any other ideas?
