Just did a few experiments with the 2-Voice Resonator. Interesting...
I found that I could get a decent amount of extra bottom end by using only one of the two voices (keep voice 1's level set at 100 and turn voice 2's level all the way down), and setting the voice pitch to a very high note rather than a low note in the bass range. Anyway, these settings might be worth a try:
Voice 1: A8
Resonance: +32
High Damp: 56%
Level: 100
Pan: C
Wet/Dry Balance: 42:48
(Voice 2, Level = 0)
Can't guarantee that this will work on your particular sound(s), but it's effective with the sound I'm working on at the moment.
STR1 Basses are lacking
Moderators: Sharp, X-Trade, Pepperpotty, karmathanever
What I would like to be able to do with STR-1 is to get any nuance you have with the real thing. Taking a violin, for example... how could we program STR-1 to get realtime control on:
- Playing with non-vibrato.
- Playing with natural vibrato.
- Playing pizzicato.
- Getting harmonics.
- And so on...
And all of this on a single Program (maybe with 2 STR-1 to get this whole power)
Same for the bass: how can we get it to play with the typical techniques like fretless, slapping, popping, tapping, or thumping, etc., etc.
Of course we may need KARMA for making the best usage of the modulations, but how to get those in the first place
Because with SGX-1 we have many nuances and therefore you get a great experience... Maybe this lack of nuances (or knowledge) is putting STR-1 on a concept that doesn't gives the best strings.

I think it all depends entirely on the "type" of bass sound you are looking for. I have and play an Ibanez 5 string active/eletric. Not a great bass but it does the job except when I'm looking for a Rickenbacker sound; something I want a lot of the time. For synth bass however I routinely go straight for the Polysix or MS-20. I'm not yet skilled enough to use the Mod-7 but I bet there are killer bass sounds in there. as for STR-1. Colour me clueless!
If music is the food of love, play on and play loud!
