PA1X Pro suddenly does not see Hard Drive
I haven't powered my PA1X Pro up in a couple of months (since I got a PA3X), but I powered it up today and it doesn't seem to even recognize that a Hard drive is installed in it. Is this an indication that the hard drive has "merely" failed, or is it an indication of some worse problem?
...now it's working, but should I be worried?
I powered up the PA1X, and it did not recognize the hard drive. I turned it off; powered it up again; and it still did not recognize the hard drive. I came and posted the question on this forum, which took me about 15 minutes. The unit was sitting powered up during that time. After it had been on for about 15 minutes, I powered it off/on again, and now it recognizes the hard drive just fine. The unit had sat for about 6 months without being powered on.
Should I be worried that a hard drive failure is imminent, and start planning on replacing the drive now? I am afraid that the drives may become hard to obtain the more time goes by.

An extremely late answer dude, and for that I apologize, but could it be the internal battery that's flunking out?
How old is your pax, and have you had lengthy pauses with it earlier?

I'm pretty sure the Pa1x doesn't have a battery. (No need as it doesn't even have an internal clock to date stamp files).
I'd be backing up my entire hard drive via USB to a computer and installing a "new" one if you are concerned that it might fail.
Another possibility might be to USB connect and de-fragment the drive just in case the problem is some faulty memory segments. This would be an easier solution.
Best,
John

check hdd cable, and if still have same symptoms, try to check ur pa1x hdd with some hdd rack direct to ur computer, if it is ok than defragment it and check with some hdd programs to see how many bad sectors hdd have.
