New Reverse Key SV1 88!!!

Post by ClaytonE »

Hello to all...This is my first post in this forum... :D
I just received my new limited edition Sv1 88,(ordered it in January), and am excited by this new experience!!!
The sounds out of the box are stunning, so I can't wait to play with the sound pacs and the editor/library!!!
One caveat however... I have 5 keys that will not depress...so I guess that Korg is still having issues with this keybed. :(
One thread on this forum addresses this issue...so when my buddy gets off work...I hope that turning it upside down and shaking it gentley will resolve the issue.(keeping my fingers crossed)
The feel of this keyboard is stunning and reminds me of the upright piano from the dim recesses of my youth!!!
Anyway... I just wanted to introduce myself and say a merry Hi to everyone ... from a proud new Sv1 owner

Hi and welcome. If you own an SV-1, then this is exactly the right place post.

Sorry to hear that you have 5 sticking keys. I guess that I have been lucky (so far) with mine, still in perfect working order after a year.

Day#2 with the Sv1

Post by ClaytonE »

Yesterday when I got my sv1 I was kinda scared because of the 5 stuck keys... When my buddy got here we "vigorously" shook it in all orientations, ( keyboards facing down, front, back, ect.) until all the keys released!!!
Plays wonderful now :D
I am still learning about this instrument, and have not fiddled with the editor/library or sound pacs yet, but the standard sounds are useable while I am learning!
I hooked it up left out to a QSC K8 powered PA speaker, and right out to a peavey studio pro 112 guitar amp for stereo. Definitely the QSC is cleaner sound with no hiss.
So Far So Good...day#2 :P :D

Yeh, that's pretty common report; my SV-1 had 2 or 3 keys (couple low G's iirc) like that, shook the keyboard as you described, problem gone, hopefully stays gone :)

Nice. I'm looking at getting a QSC K10 for monitoring also.

Day #3

Finally turned on the demo sounds and was able to jam along with them.
I did not know that I was that good!?!
It will definitely take me awhile to tweak the sounds so that I sound as good as the demos...sigh...so much to learn...but well worth the journey! :D :D
