Moog Taurus Patch

Post by sawtooth »

Hi all
I've been trying to program an authentic Moog Taurus bass patch, and I'm not quite getting there. I do seem to remember finding a fairly authentic patch when loading up some of the progam discs but can't find it now.
Does anyone remember what it was called?

Thanks

sawtooth:

Start with

a057 synth orchestra
or
a89 analog power
or
a107 brass pad
or
b57 analog pad
or
b121 classic squares

Use saw-mg or saw derivatives
Set oscillators to the same octave --
Adjust detunes to minimize pitch phasing
Delay the start of osc2 by a few cents if you choose
Lower the filter 1 2 cutoffs to taste
Change the filter cutoff mod source to joy-y (cc-2) +/-50 or taste
Modify filter and amp attacks and decays to taste
Add a size 2 delay effect

It's not a perfect Taurus but it meets 80-20 rule!
It sounds great through Peavey PR15s or Yamaha S215vs!

I will upload my patch after my next gig....

sawtooth and List:

<a href="http://home.comcast.net/~samriccijr/TAU ... TAURUS.PCG </A>

It is ok to post this to the Trinity files seciton.

I use -Y to close the filter.

I trigger this patch with a Fatar MP1 pedal. You might have to change the octaves to work with your keyboards.

Enjoy!
