Hi
You will need to record your d-50 sounds probably taking samples across the keys like C,E,G s (may be more depending on the sound itself) and for as many octaves as required. When you have this "set" of wav files (suggest you name them as the octave and note recorded - e.g. C1,E3 etc..)
If you then follow the instructions example in the user guide you will be able to create your sound. This is exactly what I did and it works fine - the manual example is pretty good - worked for me and I had no previous experience...
You need patience and to experiment a bit - remember to continually save to disk as you progress.
You can save yourself time by buying pre-recorded D50 wav samples - check e-bay.
Good luck
Pete

Best is to record your wav files on your PC - much easier to manage and check etc... then you can load them from a USB-flash-drive etc... on the PA800 when you are setting up the samples.

You will basically need PC software to enable you to record from your PC's audio line-in and then be able to create a "wav" file of each recording.
I can't remember exactly what I used - I think it was Adobe Audition (may not be available now) - most modern sequencers will let you do this and I am sure plenty of freeware/shareware packages.
Remember, to get a reasonable result on the PA800, you need to record several note samples across the source keyboard - the more notes you record, the better the result but of course you need to consider sample memory space on the PA800.
You can, of course, record directly in the PA800 - I personally preferred to record on my PC so that I could manipulate the recordings etc before loading them on the Korg.
From page 31 in the Pa800-201AE-ENG.pdf manual there is a good section on sampling and sampling procedures - this is all I used.
If you do not have this manual you can download it here:-
